About Me
Watersports are my life and setting up my own RYA accredited
training centre was a fantastic opportunity to do what I love
most and help others enjoy it in the same way as I do. I
consider myself to be a friendly, supportive and highly skilled
powerboat instructor. With over 10 years power boating
experience many of which have been on the south coast means I
understand the waters in which I train my clients well. I use
the very latest training techniques with my clients helping my
clients learn quickly, in a safe environment, building their
skills as well as confidence. With my in depth knowledge and
experience of both sailing and motor boats I am well placed to
provide tuition whether the boat is mine or yours.
I have spent many years working in the water sports industry
both in the UK and abroad. I started as a lifeguard working for
both the RNLI in the UK and then for Australia's equivalent,
Surf Lifesaving Queensland. I spent a significant amount of time
helming the inshore rescue boats and this is where my interest
in power boating started. I loved helming, running and
maintaining the boats. On returning from Australia I headed to
the Isle of Wight where I undertook further training with the UK
Sailing Academy, a globally recognised professional training
establishment. I took courses in sailing, windsurfing, kayaking
and diving. This opened up an opportunity in Corsica where I
spent a season managing a sailing centre for Simply Travel (now
a CrystalActive company). It was after that that I came back to
the UK and set up my own RYA accredited training centre in 2005.
I have sailed dinghy’s, yachts and powerboats since my teenage
years and try and get out on the water as much as possible. I am
currently in training for the ARC, an annual, 2700 nautical
mile, transatlantic rally starting in Gran Canaria and ending in
the Caribbean destination, St.Lucia. It is the largest
transocean sailing event in the world. What spare time I get,
you will find me out on the water. We very much hope you will be
interested in undertaking a course with us and will go out of
our way to make your experience with us one to remember.

Local sailing enthusiast experiences ultimate adventure on the Baltic Sea
A local sailor from Weymouth has recently returned from a trip of a lifetime onboard Ericsson 3 - the Volvo Ocean 70 yacht sailed by the Ericsson Racing Team during the world renowned Volvo Ocean Race.
Andrew Tattersall was selected for the trip by technical sportswear brand, Helly Hansen –the official clothing sponsor for the two Ericsson teams in the race.
Andrew says, “I was extremely lucky to be able to embark on this experience. You only get one shot on a Volvo ocean 70 yacht and have no choice but to learn the ‘hard way’. I got to experience an offshore leg in force eight winds and now totally appreciate some of what the world class crew had to endure. It was a tough but exhilarating experience”.
