Yachting is one of the safest leisure
sporting activities and 99.9% of
yachtsmen will never use their liferaft.
However, it is a well proven fact that
in the event of an emergency at sea,
people who have received training are
more likely to survive. This course
covers preparation for survival,
lifejackets, medical issues and search
and rescue techniques.
It includes a
practical session in a swimming pool
with a liferaft so you can experience
first hand the problems of entering an
inflated, uncooperative liferaft whilst
fully kitted out in waterproof clothing
and a lifejacket.
This course is a must for anyone going
to sea. It also complies with the MCA's
requirements for Boatmasters.
This one day course prepares you to stay
alive in an emergency. It will show you
how to make the best use of a liferaft
and you will learn some basic survival
techniques.
