Andrew Tattersall, a former lifeguard from Chickerell has established On The Water Training Ltd - an RYA Training Centre on Portland. Andrew began his career working with the RNLI beach lifeguards in Weymouth before spending a year in Australia with the Queensland Surf Life Saving in Townsville. On his return he went back to work for the RNLI and by chance he saw a boating magazine someone had left on the beach that featured the UK Sailing Academy on the Isle Of Wight.

 

He enrolled on a RYA personal development training course that combine dinghy, windsurfing and kayaking to hone his sailing skills to instructor level.

Andrew Tattersall Managing Director has a vast amount of water based experience.

 

We provide a full range of RYA Powerboat training in a new Ribcraft 5.3 metre RIB with the latest GPS & DSC Radio’s, with direct slipway access and classroom facilities at the Osprey Leisure Centre. We run relaxed but informed teaching, client safety is key to your enjoyment, we spend 2 days training along the breathtaking Jurassic coast in an assortment of sea conditions which is why Weymouth & Portland will be host to the 2012 Olympic Sailing Events.

 

We are very flexible and will be able to run a course to accommodate the client & can arrange accommodation to suit every budget.

 

 

We offer a great range of courses including Powerboat Level 1, Level 2, Safety Boat Course, Short Range Radio, First Aid and Basic Sea Survival
